Chicken Paprikas

1 cut up chicken
1 chopped onion
2 tbsp butter
salt
flour (2 to 3 tbsp)
sweet paprika
1/2 pint sour cream

Melt butter in a large pot, add the chopped onions and chicken.  Brown them gently.   Whiten the chicken with flour and redden the flour with paprika (you can't use too much).   Whiten the paprika with salt, then blacken the salt with pepper.  Add water to almost cover the chicken.  Bring it to a boil, let it simmer until the chicken is done -- approximately one hour.  Remove the chicken from the pan.  Add sour cream to the pan, mix it in well, not letting the mixture boil.  Serve it over rice or noodles or halusky.
